Untitled Mole Game:

Created in 3 months by 3 people, with myself as the level designer, this project demoed a unique mole based character kit!
Level Design process for - Showcase Stage
1. I used draw.io to plan out the levels' general layout.


2. placed collectables to teach digging mechanic.

3. next, a hallway with plenty of room to teach about hopping and boost rings.
4. then challenge the player with a pit to cross with the dolphin hop, with coin rings as an incentive + reward.



5. Several parts of the level have coin buds at points where the player would indirectly learn turning with The character while burrowing in all directions.




5. For walls that were clearly climbable AND curvy, I gave them a blue, crystal like color to act as defined railings given the mountain setting of the game.


In the end, I succeeded at making a fun, engaging showcase stage that got people comfortable with the unique moveset of the character, and left them not only wanting more, but, feeling confident they could tackle whatever challenges the game offered.
